Service June 14

Order of Worship - 6/14/2020

Thank you for taking part in this time of worship. Please follow the order of service as it is listed here, from top to bottom. The Sermon will not be up until the afternoon. Please pray for wisdom for our elders as they begin to make decisions for the church as our State begins to open up again. I hope you are richly encouraged.

- NEW TESTAMENT READING -

John 10:7-16

So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.

- PRAYER -

A General Thanksgiving, from the Book of Common Prayer

Almighty God, Father of all mercies, we, thine unworthy servants, do give thee most humble and hearty thanks for all thy goodness and lovingkindess to us and to all men. We bless thee for our creation, preservation, and all for thine inestimable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ; for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory. And, we beseech thee, give us that due sense of all thy mercies that our hearts may be unfeignedly thankful; and that we show forth thy praise, not with our lips, but in our lives, by giving up our selves to thy service, and by walking before thee in holiness and righteousness all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom with thee and the Holy Ghost, be all honour and glory, world without end. Amen

  • Memory verses: Philippians 4:4-13
  • Read Acts 12:1-19
    • Point out that that in response to hardship, the church went and prayed and because of the goodness of God, He miraculously freed Peter from prison.
    • Remind your childern that in times of hardship and sorrow, it is important for us to pray and remind ourselves that God is in control of every circumstance
    • Explain to your childern that the greater mircale is that God saves us from our bondage to sin, to those that believe in the gospel
