Deacons -

Purpose - to care for the physical needs of the Church and the people in the Church.  This is to allow the Apostles/Elders to be able to preach the word and evangelize.

3 Points of why Deacons were created 

1) Growing Pains - Early church had growing pains and People of need were being left out.

2) Scope of Ministry - Care for the needs for people inside the church.

3) Congregationally apportioned - As the membersship grows, the number of Deacons should increase.

6 Applications for the Congregation

1) Be a servant.

2) Be available.

3) Proactive - reach out to deacons on how you can serve.

4) Be prudent - Only for those who Qaulify

5) Be growing in the faith.

6) Be Gospel driven.
