Do you Remember?

Samuel was the final Judge of isreal in what God told him to do. 

4 Observations of Samual 7.

1) The ministry of Samuel does not give us much until after the defeat by the Philistines. His last 20 years, he always taught us to worship the Lord and remember what Jesus did for us and to repent and throw away the idols.

2) This Chapter is a total reversal of the previous chapter. In the previous chapter they worshiped the Ark and not God and it led to defeat. This chapter they focused on the Lord, asking for forgiveness and studied the word, thus gettinh rid of the Idols.

3)  The Isrealites really asked for forgiveness and did get rid of the idols.  They did repent and studied the word and got back on course.  They realized they had sinned against God.

4) Samuels' sacrificing of the spotless lamb, the Lord answered him.  The Lord supported them in the next battle and they won.

We need to be disciplined like Samual disciplined the Isrealites.  

  a) We need to Remember and love the Lord.  We need to focus our lives on Him, his word and his spirit.

  b) Second when we remember, we also need to repent of our sins and ask for forgiveness.

  c) Remembrance results in obediance, keeping his commandment and loving him.

  d) Remember by being in his word.  All is in the remembrance of Jesus Christ.

We need to develop the discipline to study and learn the work.  Praising the Lord, asking for repentance and spreading the word we have studied and learned.
